Tossa De Mar
Perfect summer holiday destination!!
1)Take time to unwind at one of the gorgeous beaches
Beaches run down the coast for 14km making it the ideal location for hot summer weather. The two main beaches here are Platja Gran or Big Beach, which is surrounded by the beautiful old town, this is probably the most popular beach on the coast! Do you have a family with children? The perfect beach for you is Platja de la Mar Menuda. It has shallow waters and a special area for sunbathing named “the women´s bath”, ideal for the little ones.
2)Pay a visit to the Old Town and soak up the history of the local area
You must take a wonder along the narrow streets where you can meander through pavements and find the lovely whitewashed buildings where you will also see restaurants. If you carry on heading toward the old town you will reach the cobble streets where you can be fascinated by the old architecture buildings with beautiful stone and medieval houses. This area is called Vila Vella (old town) is also unmistakably less packed. If you fancy some lovely views and photos for the Instagram, be sure to take the boat trip from Tossa de Mar where from the blue waters you can see the old town overshadowed by its medieval walls.
3)Culture yourself at the Municipal Museum
Interested in history and art? This museum is perfect for you, located in the centre of Vila Vella. Up until 1935 this building was the former Governor´s House and then after became a contemporary art gallery which is very interestingly one of the first in spain so maybe here is the perfect place for inspiration! Each and every exhibit provides you with a unique experience where you can go back in time to see what life was like from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. When the museum was first initiated several artists moved to Tossa de Mar and produced masterpieces that are still shown today!... If you are visiting this area this should definitely be on your to do list.
